Wizards in the Dark – Hobbit SBG Battle Report

  1. Wait, the last scenario is not one with all the dwarves and Bilbo and Gandalf facing the Goblin King and endless goblins? Did I miss that one? Anyway, nicely done with this scenario. I think the wizards definitely had a challenge in that each is not really a combat monster able to blow through a ton of goblins easily. Magic is more of a Swiss Army knife in that it’s helpful in a bunch of situations but doesn’t do one thing really well. The miniatures though look fantastic as does the tabletop. 😀

    1. You certainly didn’t miss it! Despite the box set giving you all of the minis you need, the An Unexpected Journey Rulebook (and the new Hobbit Armies book) have the full Goblin Town scenarios in them. I’m working my way towards the terrain needed for them now 😀

As usual, I completely agree with your assessment! Your tactics are always sound 🙂 Thank you for the kind words as well. I hope that my full Goblin Town table lives up the high standards I’ve set thus far (and that it is worth all the time and money it takes to create)!
