Looney Tunes – Rabbit

  1. Excellent work on the rabbit Jeff, some great fur work, with all the little brush strokes, shall be interesting to see what it is for.

Nice to see some progress on the diorama, I think you have room for a street between the two groups, but will want some rubble across the area as well to tie the whole scene together, and some damaged buildings, as big monsters are renowned for damaging scenery ! LOL

The format for 2000 ad and the Megazine, is what we have been used to for many years in the UK, as that’s how most of our comics worked, multiple stories at different times in their stories, which I can understand being frustrating with how the US comics normally work.

A little bit of a help for you is Judge Rico, is Dredd’s brother, who Dredd judged when he turned to crime, so jumping in could be very hard, the collection story was probably a good idea, to be able to read a whole story in one, and getting it online will help on the price.

Shall be interested to read what you are currently reading next week.

    1. Cheers, Dave! I was lucky I had a very fine brush with few bristles left as it made the bunny easier to paint.

I was thinking a road across the battlefield is a good idea too. That will give me some space to branch out and do some other cool things as well. I keep forgetting to actually plan for the damaged buildings and your comment has reminded me that I need to start doing that. I saw someone selling some cheap buildings that might be slightly imperfect on eBay and those could be a great solution to this.

It is all starting to feel a bit like the Revolutionary War all over again, Dave. Brits are doing things in the wrong way and are asking to be sorted out by the colonists haha! In all seriousness, I commend British readers’ patience as it is not easy to keep up with stuff in this format! You certainly can’t do what I do which is read the comics as they come out and then recycle them!

I would have never guessed that Judge Rico is Dredd’s brother. In this story, Rico looked a lot like Dredd to me anyway so that is good know. I will definitely stick to collected stories from here on out. We’ll see how I get on with that as I do believe that I will still enjoy Dredd when I find the right way of reading it.

  2. That is quite the tease youโ€™ve left at the end, there ๐Ÿคฃ Glad to hear the Dredd reading will continue, though I totally get how confusing it can be. Years ago I picked up a kind of omnibus that collected a bunch of stories, though it collected them in order, so you could get the full picture. Kind of like a bunch of megazines but in the right order? Anyway, thought Iโ€™d mention it in case you were interested in the physical media as being a possibility!

That wabbit looks top notch! But the way you posed him with the nazi fighter! Oh my ๐Ÿซฃ Seriously, such good work. Iโ€™m very intrigued by what heโ€™s going to be a part ofโ€ฆ

    1. It sounds like it got your attention anyway! ๐Ÿ˜€ I will see if I can find anything like that digitally. There are quite a few collections aimed newer readers so I’ll see if I can’t figure out which one might be good for me. I’m glad you mentioned this as I think its the direction I should move in.

Thanks for the kind words on Bugs Bunny! With any luck all shall be revealed sooner than later. Truthfully, I’m looking forward to that myself.

  3. I reckon that’s the Rabbit of Caerbannog. That nazi doesn’t know what’s about to hit him!

Interesting to hear you’re exploring Dread, I like a bit of Judge Dread myself. Have you encountered Slรกine? That’s another 2000AD – as it happens I have some Slรกine miniatures that should show up on the blog soon(ish). I know what you mean about that format of comics making it hard to get into them though, as Dave says that’s the format we’re used to here and it’s put me off a lot of things. Just tell the story properly please, without making it a treasure hunt.

    1. I had to look that one up, mate, because I live under a rock but now that I have some idea of what you’re talking about, I’d have to agree ๐Ÿ™‚

I haven’t gotten to any Slaine yet though I do know what he looks like, mostly because Warlord made that game based on him! I’m certainly open to learning more about him as all of 2000 AD is new to me. I’m curious to see what you have up your sleeve, Slaine wise! I’m glad to hear it isn’t just Americans who find it puzzling. Its almost as if they don’t want people to get into Dredd and 2000 AD!
