As I mentioned in my last post, I have been working on something that is display quality and outside of Middle Earth. I actually started this hobby by painting Warhammer and 40,000 before LOTR was released and while I quit in high school and doubt I’d ever play it again, I have a good painting friend who always encourages me to paint the more complex models in the game from time-to-time. I decided to try and push my skills and possibly paint something for Golden Demon with this latest mini. It doesn’t hurt that I feel like I have a clever color scheme that hasn’t been used much with Eldar but also fits the personality of them very well. But enough talking up my concept, let me show you how I’m getting along with it.
Of course, he is very much, half-finished and many things you see are either not done or may be touched up a bit further before the end. I should also note that he isn’t on his base yet which will also be a pretty striking part of the miniature or so I’m hoping.
The back isn’t quite as far along as the front and after working on the cloak the last few days this week, I’m a bit frustrated and plan on setting it aside until I feel ready to jump back into it. Hopefully I can get unstuck soon and keep this project moving!
At some point this week, I should be receiving The Scouring of the Shire book so expect some kind of review/flip-through of it in the near future. I’m incredibly excited to crack the book open and see what all it entails! I should have some Hobbit hobby progress to show off as well.
