Its good to be back after some time away. As is usually the case when I skip a week, there’s a bit more to talk about than usual as a result too. First up, I guess I might as well explain why I was gone. To celebrate my 40th birthday, I went to Omaha, Nebraska … Continue reading Monsterpocalypse – Spitter – Alternate Colors
Another week of steady progress on General Hondo but it wasn’t without some serious drama. I’m pretty careful with miniatures so they don’t take a swan dive off any tables but a couple of days ago my wife was sitting at my desk and accidentally knocked Hondo over which caused the Citadel paint handle to … Continue reading Monsterpocalypse – General Hondo – VII
Things have been quiet as I just didn’t have very much that was interesting to show on Hondo so I decided it was for the best to skip posting last weekend. I’m still on the precipice of where things get really interesting but at least we’re finally there. Here’s some photos of what I’ve been … Continue reading Monsterpocalypse – General Hondo V
AK Interactive have launched a new variation or sub-series in the Learning Series and it is while hard to explain exactly what this new book is, I think they’ve yet again hit upon a winning idea. What is Scenery Techniques? – This is the question many people will have when they see this title and … Continue reading Learning Wargames – Scenery Techniques – Book Review
After a late update last week, I was always going to be up against it this week to have much to show off and that is indeed the case. Its a modest update but it sparked some ideas that I thought were worth sharing and hopefully prove to be somewhat interesting as well. I worked … Continue reading Monsterpocalypse – General Hondo II
Happy Memorial Day for those who are celebrating! Last week I promised a surprise miniature and I’m hopefully delivering. And it doesn’t get cooler than an ape that is inspired by King Kong! General Hondo is one of the most fun Monsterpocalypse miniatures in my opinion and it was one where as soon as I … Continue reading Monsterpocalypse – General Hondo I
As you may recall, I promised that I was going to start on a bust this week and well, I did try but it did not go well. I’ll talk more about that in a bit but we’ll start with something more positive. After spending 3-4 days on the bust, I was struggling to think … Continue reading Hellboy: The Board Game – Johann Kraus Bust
Its been a pretty busy hobby week for me overall so there’s a bit more to discuss than usual. First up, and probably the most exciting part, is that I got the remaining two raiders finished (they just needed rust paint and matte varnish) so I got the Burns Residence out again and took some … Continue reading Fallout Wasteland Warfare – Utility Protectron – I
I was able to wrap up Grunthal finally and am happy to show him off to you. Concluding the project didn’t go completely smoothly but I’ll talk about that after we look at some pictures. As you can see, I decided to give him a grizzly bear fur coat. To me, the fur patterns that … Continue reading Black Crow Miniatures – Grunthal Complete!
As I write this, it is very cold where I live. It feels like -10 F or -23 C. Tomorrow is going to be colder in both literally and because of something else going on. Most of you can probably guess what I’m referring to. Because I don’t want publish an article with that as … Continue reading Black Crow Miniatures – Grunthal V
