  1. Great review Jeff, very in depth for anyone interested in the expansion, and good that you could find a copy to help finish your collection.

  2. Looks like money well spent, quite an extensive book. Are those Army Painter paints they’re using? I much prefer drop bottles vs the GW ones.

    1. For the price I paid, I felt like I got my money’s worth which is saying something as GW puts out nice books for MESBG.

And yes, Modiphius uses Army Painter in any painting related stuff they do. I’ve never tried Army Painter paints before but I do dabble in Vallejo and AK Interactive’s paint and they use the dropper bottles. It is nice not having to scrape dried paint out of the top of the pot, if nothing else!

  3. Nice write-up mate. I remember running into the Swan quite randomly in my F4 playthrough. It was a bit of a surprise!

Hopefully you can get the rest of the books before they’re all entirely out of print and availability – and hopefully most of the content is still compatable with the next edition, even if it needs a bit of tweaking.

    1. Thanks for the kind words and that’s awesome to hear. As someone who hasn’t seen him in-game, the excitement for Swan’s mini was more or less lost on me.

That is my goal and finances permitting, I’ll be picking another one of the missing items soon so it won’t take too long to get everything purchased, hopefully.

  4. It sounds like this was a great buy for you. Have you actually used these scenarios yet? I didn’t get the impression that you had so if not then I definitely look forward to a second review about whether they’re as good in practice as they are on paper.

    1. No, I haven’t played yet, unfortunately. I’m working on fence that would be really good with the Brahmin scenarios so I’ll hold off until I get more of that done. Some of the other scenarios require buying and painting more minis and terrain most likely which I’m happy to do but it will take some time to get all that done as you can imagine!

      1. I think you mention that the Brahmin scenarios would need way more of those minis than you own (or ever likely would since there’s only a couple of sculpts) so you’ll have your work cut out for you even once you finish that magnum opus of the fence 🙂

      2. Haha, you have a good memory and that’s very true. I unfortunately always seem to have a lot more to do in Fallout to get to the next game but its usually worth the wait, thankfully!

  5. Interesting read thanks for the review! Seems like a book like GW used to do but don’t anymore. I’ve found the more modern codexes etc no longer really have hobby sections which I think is a bit sad, those were some of my favourites and while I understand they have pretty comprehensive guides online etc, having them right there in the book was of value I think! Maybe that’s just the nostalgia talking 😉

    1. You make a very good point, mon ami! I hadn’t thought about it much but the modern Codexes that I’ve seen do lack a bit of that hobby content. I find them to be coolly professional and lacking a bit of the enthusiasm of the old ones too, now that you mention it.
